The 2022 AusCycling Mountain Bike National Championships took place last weekend at Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania, and we had a number 3 local riders racing at the pointy end of proceedings.

Toby Inglis was competing in the U17 Mens category, and in a highly competitive field Toby took out 3rd place in the XCC short track, and a creditable 12th place in the XCO medal event.

Holly Harris was competing in the Elite Womens category, and in a world class field Holly ripped up the course to place 3rd and come home with a shiny bronze medal – well done Holly!

But the performance of the weekend was undoubtedly Katherine Hosking, who was competing in the U23 Womens category. In an outstanding ride, Katherine crushed the competition to take out a clear win, and with it the gold medal and the coveted National Champion’s jersey. To cap it off Katherine also won the teams competition to add to her collection of medals and jerseys from the weekend – congratulations Katherine!
